Biddulph Grange Garden is another interesting National Trust site to visit close to the Peak District, in the heart of Staffordshire !
This Victorian garden houses plants from all over the world, collected for over 20 years by James Bateman. There are different area in the garden, from each part of the world, and each area is hidden from each other behind rocks and shrubs. It’s quite nice to be able to walk not knowing what’s hidden around the corner.
The Chinese garden is the first part of the garden we visited and the one I enjoyed the most.
The Italian terraces that are connected by steps to each others were also stunning ! Apparently, the best season to visit is autumn, for its vibrant colours.
The weather was quite capricious that day, typical English weather but the visit of this garden of gardens was extraordinary !
Beautiful walks and even if the weather is iffy, the views make it worth it. :)

Lovely spot, and just thing to look at on a gray, wintery day with ice coming out of the sky.

That was unexpected but very welcomed ! It is a very nice place but after seeing the Tangshan’s horticultural exposition last November in China, I don’t find it impressive anymore :D

I love well-cared gardens. People – sometimes the whole families and for centuries – devote them whole hearts and so much efforts.

In the UK people love maintaining gardens.. a lot of people volunteer in Biddulph Grange to maintain the ground. This is incredible.

Beautiful pictures. The Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco is similar, but doesn’t have a definite barrier between world gardens. So glad you’re blogging again.
